Sorry you missed the show last night. It was a good un. And a great crowd. The Walnut Room is definitely a place to watch.
Other great SlackerCountry-type artists that are coming soon to the Denver area include Joe Pug Feb 18th at the Bluebird, James McMurtry to the Aggie in Ft. Collins on Feb 26 and to the Fox in Boulder on Feb 27, andthe Avett Brothers April 20-21 at the Boulder Theater in Boulder.

Great review. I just moved to town recently and I had not heard of the Walnut Room and didn’t know about the show until after the fact. I really enjoyed his last album but I’ve never seen him and I need to pick up the rest. Are there any other good shows coming up that I’m overlooking? Maybe a little advance warning for the next show?

YES! This album was a treat. It fills the missing holes in my collection. George Jones Talking Cell Phone Blues is great. And they finally put When The Well Runs Dry and Great Car Dealer Wars on a disc. Mrs. Claus’ Kimono cracks me up. Poor Rudolph…

I can’t argue with that. Love the Drams disc too. Did you know Brian Lane moved back to Texas and Slobberbone lives once again?? They are even touring. Check out their website http://www.slobberbone.com. Someday, I might get to see them. Jitter does all the time, of course. . .

Can’t believe I missed all of this…. I caught the Drams and Will Q. and the Diviners in Tampa a couple of years ago, and the Drams not only called out Brian Lane before they sang Shortsighted but they got together and played an impromptu set as Slobberbone. The crowd was sparse, the beer was good and they belted out the best shit I’ve ever heard. Pissing next to Brent Best just before the Drams went on, I commented that Slobberbone made three of the best records I’ve ever heard. Sitting here tonight, with a couple of those in the cd player on shuffle, it holds true.
